Lead us Not into Temptation

Western Christianity has abandoned the wisdom of past generations in regard to sexual temptation. Now women and men work together in a world where adultery in the work place is common. Our Churches have abandoned traditional wisdom in regard to marriage and half of Christian marriages end in divorce. We have also redefined sexual morality differently than the early church and condone what was considered immorality. It is as if the well-known Lord’s Prayer, the Our Father has been reworded and that Christians are praying, “Lead us into temptation.” The Christian Church is tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine and is drifting into chaos. What do we do in such turbulent waters? It’s at times like these that we need more than ever to look to Jesus so that we can walk on water (Matthew 14:22-33).
