The Unburdened Heart:
5 Keys to Forgiveness
and Freedom |
How many people do we have to forgive? Do we need to forgive the church? What about church leaders creating new Talmuds and binding heavy burdens on us like the Pharisees which Jesus criticized? We cannot say that legalism is exclusively a Jewish problem. It is a human one. Grace is risky. Legalism is the normal human way. What about politicians? They are easier to forgive. All we have to do is realize that no human is capable of solving human problems. What about the jerk on the freeway, who cuts you off and threatens your life with a deadly weapon because you dare to obey the law? Father, forgive him. He doesn’t know what he is doing. Forgiveness is needed every day and in every place. And the hardest thing of all is forgiving from the heart (
Matthew 18:21-35).
