How can we get a good Bible education at home? Read every book of the Bible in a modern translation. Study each book using literal translations and critical commentaries from liberal, mainstream and conservative sources. Get the software to learn the biblical languages at home. Read at least five popular books from different perspectives on each major Christian topic such as Church history or systematic theology. Make a list of major theological topics and study different viewpoints on each. For instance, don't just study Calvinism but get the balance by also reading books on Arminianism, Barthianism and the Catholic view. Read the writings of great influence in Christian history from early church fathers to notable Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant writers. It is said that if you read 40 books on any topic you have the equivalent knowledge of a master's degree in that subject. Most of all, enjoy the journey.
